Hi, I’m Darcy, and as a nonprofit operations expert, I specialize in helping nonprofits do more good in the world but that’s not how this started…

When my children were infants and toddlers, I started a home organizing business – working with clients to clear out closets and sort through mountains of unopened mail. I loved that work. I was helping people clear physical clutter but when we were done I could actually see my clients stand taller because the emotional and mental clutter had also been lifted.

As my children grew, I had less flexibility so I pivoted to working as a virtual assistant for individuals, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. This was a great learning experience to do everything from scheduling meetings to ordering gifts to making appointments to updating websites and I helped families have smoother days as well as assisting small businesses to grow and expand.

One day I signed a nonprofit as a VA client and the next iteration of the business, as well as my true passion, was discovered.

I’ve been a volunteer my whole life with a wide variety of organizations from 4-H to college food drives to running youth athletic leagues. I have great respect for what nonprofits bring to their communities and love being a part of it.

This new VA client was local so I was asked to fill in for an onsite office volunteer for a few weeks. During that time, the new Executive Director decided to revamp some of the operations and asked me to help. After the volunteer returned, we overhauled the entire operation and saved 12 hours out of the weekly office tasks. These changes created processes that would not only maintain the existing work but allow for growth and continued efficiency. Along the way, we learned what systems and tools worked and which ones didn’t and made the organization better equipped to serve their clients.

Cue the lightbulb.

It was then I realized that my little organizing heart was with nonprofits.

I phased out every other client and began focusing just on bringing my organizational and administrative skills to the people who were doing good in the world. If I could help even one organization to be more efficient in the back-office operations so they could spend more time and money serving their clients and achieving their mission, that would be a day well spent.

Now we partner with nonprofits all over the country with many different focus areas to support them with a variety of services and resources. This is our passion and we are privileged to be a part of our clients’ work.
